My Vaccination (Poem)

Hug someone. I dare you.

Can’t get the virus

Can’t get the vaccine

I know I’m alive but

I don’t know what that means

I wish I was older

You’d believe my lies

I wanna get closer

But I just see eyes

Can’t get the virus

Can’t get the vaccine

But I still know if the

Waiter is Max or Maxine

Black has to matter

Asian lives too

Color is our virus

No vaccine for you

Is it true

There is a brew

For two

That is new?

Are we drinking it now

One for me, one for you?

Then when this is over

Will you hold me

And when we are closer

Will you hold me

Because we are alive

Will you hold me

Or before we all die

Will you hold me
